Funding our Wedding Tuesday 01 April 2008

As everyone knows, weddings costs a lot of money. On average in 2005, about £16,000 was spent per wedding and ours will be no different.

Some close members of the family have offered to give us some money, and we thank them for that, however. In order to raise extra funds for the wedding, I am now offering the below service to all friends and family.

A strange but very interesting hobby of mine is Detailing Cars and this detailing service offered to you will help fund our wedding.

Car Wash, Polish and Wax Detailing Service

The step for this service are as follows:

  • The Paint
  • Your car will be treated with a Bug and Tar remover to remove large road contamination from the paint.
  • Washed using the two bucket method and then rinsed.
  • The surface of the paint will then be further cleaned using detailing clay which lift dirt from the paint which cannot be remove from the previous two method, leaving a glass smooth surface.
  • The paint will then be washed again, rinsed down and then dried using non scratch drying towels.
  • The paint will then be lightly polished with a machine polisher to bring out the shine in your paint.
  • Finally, the paint is protected with a coat of carnauba based wax.
  • The Exterior
  • Trims, bumpers, glass, wheels and tyres will all be cleaned and protected.
  • The Interior
  • All door shunts and sills will be sprayed and cleaned.
  • Carpets and seats will be hoovered. Any leather surfaces will be specially treated.
  • Dash board and any hard surfaces will be wiped down and protected.
  • The glass inside will also be cleaned.

The whole process will take approx 5 to 8 hours and all for excellent price of £50!

I will require an electical and water supply. Garage is prefered but not required.

Wedding Confirmed Friday 29 February 2008

We can now announce the venue and date for our 2009 wedding.

After considering dozens and visiting 3 possible venues; the Newby Bridge Hotel, the Damson Dean Hotel and the Barton Grange Hotel. We have narrowed the Wedding down to the Barton Grange Hotel, which will be held on Saturday the 25th of April 2009.

At first glance, we liked the Newby Bridge Hotel. As you arrived, it looked grand and welcoming. Inside had a very nice cosy feel to it and the external accommodation which would sleep family members, was new and modern. However, after visiting the next venue, it felt run down and pub-ish.

The Damson Dean Hotel in the Lake District immediately made an impression on us. As you entered the main receptions, you could tell that everything was cared for and that there was a certain class to it. The main room where we would have our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening event was very nice and well equipped. The leisure facilities were lovely and the external accommodation was new, clean and modern looking. What impressed us the most was the garden, which backed onto the Lake District, a perfect photo opportunity, however...

After visiting the Barton Grange Hotel and costing it up, this was the most attractive to us. Not only is the venue very clean and modern, but we have heard many good reports about the level of food, service and facilities that they offer. The room that we are hiring for the entire day is "just right" and we get a private bar too. The bedrooms which friends and family can stay in, are large and comfortable. There are leisure facilities which all staying can use, the is a garden which wedding guests can use all day and which we will be using for photographs.

So now that the venue and date has been confirmed, we can start planning the menu's, invitations, wedding list, suit hire, photographer, transport, drinks, dj, tableware, music, times, guests… the list goes on.

Remember! Please keep checking this website for updates :)
